Relictor Chapter Up-date

Hi again,
Once again a friend has given me some more units for my 40k army so these are some new units for my Relictor Chapter. I am still awaiting my delivery of the lava bases and once they arrive I can finish the chapter off. I am also trying to work out how to do the Relictor Logo as I am sure my painting skills will not allow me to do more then 2 without messing up.

Terminators from Forge world.

Firestorm Armada Arriving Soon to the Shed near you.....

"Long Away in a distant galaxy, an Omnidyne Battle Squadron was being Constructed. Orbiting a little know planet in the corner of the Prax nebula simply designated Planet X-4571.
the Omnidyne Ship yard was busy assembling a small fleet of ships which would be know as the Gold Stars."

A friend foisted upon me a small fleet of vessels for Firestorm Armada by Spartan games. I have been interested in this system for quite a while and now I have no excuse.
Test colours to which are also going to be the final colours.
or same ships but with the power of photoshop....

Battlegroup Overlord

Having slowly become disillusioned with Flames of war and the way battlefront is going with this in general I was looking for a new set of rules, and after a conversation with a friend who mentioned how good the Battlegroup rules were I noticed that one of my Dads suppliers for the shop stocked the rules, so I ordered a Overlord Supplement which also came with an A5 Rules Booklet.

At first glance I was really impressed with the quality and appearance of the books and the eye candy within took me back to my Youth and my old collection of 20mm.....Why did I not stay with that scale....DOH!

Besides the fact that it is cheaper than 15mm now if you take Battlefront price hikes and that Skytrex follows them at every turn, I first purchased stuff off these companies many moons ago at £3 each when 20mm stuff was £6 each, now its the other way round....Any ways I am digressing.

The feel and look of the books are inspiring and although the lists are a little confusing at first, it is easy to get to grips with them.
The Rules look simple and not overcomplicated and the special rules are kept to a bear minimum. having read through them, they are a lot easier then the FOW v3 A5 rule book, as the print is easier and has a plain background unlike FOW.

So I can not wait to try these rules out, I just need a willing victim......Now who shall I choose, Dennis or Bill....LOL

Ps. They are defently worth a look at, which is a lot more then I can say about FOW v3 at the moment (Evil Smirk)

RELICTOR Chapter. WH40K

I am in the progress of finishing off a new 40k Army, the RELICTOR Chapter.
I have used Army painter mid tone over the basic painting. and I am really happy how these are coming out, but I can not really take full credit as I purchased the Army of E(vil)bay ready painted in base colours.

I mentioned to a friend that I was thinking of using Volcanic bases for them and the next day he gave me some bases, So today I experimented and these are the results.

Great Product Lists Guys...But what do they look like?

One thing that bemuses me nowadays is that Miniature companies that rely mainly upon Shows and to a greater extent the Internet, and who have web sites with lists of their figures and vehicles, including prices etc. but have NO images or half of the range shown and not the rest.

I mean they take all that time to produce a separate box for each Item but No image. Some companies just do lists as per their price lists you can pick up at shows but that's great if you are at a show and can see the product.

But what if they do not go to the shows you do? or you can not get to a show?
How can you tell the quality of the model or what it even looks like?
I recently contacted one company to ask if they had a photo of their version of a tank and they told be to look up the actual tank on the internet and that there model would look just like it... WTF??????
I tried that and got 3 different versions.

So these companies are doing so well that they obviously don't need my custom or yours and they assume greatly to a large degree that we the customer are mind readers that know exactly what the product looks like.

Well all I can say is, No picture, No purchase.

Come on guys get your act together, you are letting your selves and your products down, if you take the time to do a web site why not put a picture of your product up as well or are the sculpts actually That BAD!? you don't want any one to see them before purchasing.

At the end of the day it is not hard to take a photograph and put it up on the web site.
Rant over, well... 'ish
